CT16VGT TDX Hi-Spec Turbo Upgrade to suit Toyota Hilux Hiace Prado 3.0ltr D4D
It’s a well known fact, the Toyota 3.0L turbo can fail in stock trim. Many people wish to remap their 3.0Ltr for more power to tow boats or caravans or simply to enjoy their toys a little more however the gain they are looking for is not achievable with the stock turbo. It falls short of the desired amount of extra flow needed to match the power increase sort after. with the factory turbo limiting by it maximum flow rate from factory it is generally limited to 18PSI ( even though people have pushed it past that rating, this is highest safe output for factory turbo) Not considering age and high Kms of turbo plays a factor as well, and thus when tuning for more power and torque your turbo is at limit, then your fuelling will be shortly limited too due to AFR ratios will start to be richer and can lead to higher EGTs,
For those that want a stronger, more aggressive and ultimately more reliable turbo charger on their 3.0Ltr we have a new highly modified bolt on turbo for you. No modifications necessary.
Our customised upgraded Garrett CT16 direct replacement bolt-on turbo suit this requirement very well. No other modifications are necessary gasket kit included.
Our customised upgraded turbo with high flow, billet GTX compressor wheel and 360 Deg Hi Spec Thrust Bearing flows 30% more air (and cooler air) than the factory setup. this is primary beneficial when tuning for power increase as the more air that can be put into the engine with fuel the better the burn, and thus cleaner air fuel ratio and that also brings lower EGTs and keeps the engine more reliable in stressed conditions.
The upgraded turbo is a direct replacement to the factory item. A direct bolt up with all gaskets and seals included.
To give you some basic specs between the factory and our uniquely customised turbo:
TOYOTA 3.0 D4D FACTORY STANDARD TURBO:
- Standard 9 blade compressor wheel
- A 270 deg thrust bearing that has poor lubrication at the stock 18psi boost level
- Poor air flow at higher RMPS
- Hot air flow at highest Boost levels.
CHIP TUNING UPGRADED HI-SPEC/HI-FLOW TURBO FEATURES:
- A modified billet 11 blade Garret GTX compressor wheel
- A larger exducer – for much better flow
