Aftermarket Parts and Statute Warranties

AFTERMARKET PARTS & STATUTE WARRANTIES

CONTRARY TO WHAT THE DEALER MAY TELL YOU, THE FITMENT AND
AFTERMARKET PARTS DOES NOT VOID ANY WARRANTY

THAT WILL NOT VOID YOUR WARRANTY

If a Dealer ever tells you, “That will void your warranty”.  When asked to put that in writing, the Dealer will soon back up and say, “if the part makes anything fail its not covered under warranty.”  Or words to that effect.  In other words, the aftermarket part you fitted will not void warranty. If the after-market part causes a genuine part to fail then of course the manufacturer does not need to warrant the original part.   Of course, that is fair. Remember a Dealer has a lot of money invested and if they can get you to believe that what YOU DID caused the failure then he makes $130 / hr and charges you full retail for the part.  If its a warranty job, they receive a token amount from the manufacturer and get the replacement part for free!!.  There’s a BIG difference in remuneration right there. This means that when you purchase a part for your car that is built well and maintains the safety features of the vehicle then you will not have any problems. The onus is, in fact, ON THE DEALER/MANUFACTURER to PROVE the aftermarket part has caused the failure of their part.  It is not the other way around.  You do not need to prove anything. On this point therefore, we recommend that you REMOVE the after-market part from the vehicle BEFORE going to the Dealer for servicing or warranty work so you don’t have the argument.
