DENSO COMMON RAIL DIESEL
ISSUE
Rev counter starts reducing while driving. You feel as if the vehicle is starving fuel before engine check light comes on and the vehicle goes into limp mode.
DILEMMA
Dealer will not be able to detect the issue and suggest a full pump replacement
FIX
Fuel Pump Speed Sensor
There are 2 identical sensors on the fuel pump.
You will need to buy at least one and swap old to new till the issue is sorted. You may have to try on both original sensors till you sort the issue. It may prove wisdom in hindsight to replace BOTH Sensors at the same time.
