How to Reset Adblue in 2011+ VAG ECUs

  1. Before resetting Adblue:
    1. The ECU must be stock. Tuned ECU software may also be OK if it does not deactivate adblue yet (e.g. standard Stage 1 or Stage 2).
    2. Don’t read the ECU yet.
    3. Don’t change any mechanical part in the car yet.

How to Reset Adblue

  • Engine off key on
  • Adblue Tank “FULLY” Topped off
  • Engine 01
  • Basic settings 04
  • Resetting of SCR Tank Level Detection
  • “Go”
  • You will see “Finished Correctly | End System OK”
  • “Stop”
  • “Done Go Back”
  • Basic settings 04
  • Reset SCR Lock
  • “Go”
  • You will see “Finished Correctly | End System OK”
  • “Stop”
  • “Done Go Back”

How to Verify Adblue is reset

  • Open Engine -> Adv. Meas. Blocks in VCDS

UDS Block 448 = Reducing agent fill level
UDS Block 453 = Reducing agent tank fill level indicator raw
UDS Block 467 = Sensor for reducing agent fill level; fill level
UDS Block 505 = Status of reducing agent warning – Bit 0
UDS Block 514 = Status of reduction agent level
